See a local art exhibit at the Western Service Center.“Portraits, reflections and secrets of Dakota County” is the name of a new community art exhibit currently on display at the Western Service Center through Dec. 22.

The exhibit features a mix of paintings, drawings and photography. The works of art were created by 26 artists who are residents of Dakota County.

The exhibit is located in the hallway between the Galaxie Library and the Western Service Center atrium. Viewing hours are Monday 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m. There is no cost to view the exhibit.

The artists answered a call made by the Dakota County Public Art Citizen Advisory Committee, looking for artists to be part of this first community art exhibit. Their submissions were reviewed by the committee with the Dakota County Board of Commissioners making the final decision as to which pieces would be displayed in the new exhibit.
