A leader in technology
Dakota County earned second place in the 2011 Digital Counties Survey, which identifies the very best examples of how counties are using technology to become more efficient.
Conducted by the National Association of Counties and the Center for Digital Government, the survey recognizes counties that provide exemplary electronic service to their residents while effectively finding innovative ways of using technology to meet the higher demand for services during these trying economic times.
Dakota County was one of just three Minnesota counties to receive an award. Submissions were divided up into four population categories. Dakota County took second in the 250,000-499,999 population category. Hennepin County placed fifth in the 500,000 or more category. Olmsted County placed third in the 150,000 and under population category.
