Call for local authors
The Dakota County Library is looking for local authors.Dakota County Library is looking for local authors, illustrators, publishers and literary agents to be part of the first annual Local Author Fair.

The fair is an opportunity for authors and book creators to showcase their work, discuss and sell their books, network with one another and learn more about the writing and publishing business.

The fair will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, 1–4 p.m. in the Western Service Center atrium. Award-winning author David Housewright will speak, and The Loft will present free writing and publishing workshops.

Anyone interested in participating needs to turn in an application by Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Space is limited. All submissions will be considered with first preferences given to authors, including self-published authors, from Dakota County. Up to 40 will be chosen. Those selected will be notified by Dec. 22. There is no fee to apply or participate.
