Whodunit?
Summer reading at the library isn’t just for kids. Whether you are a reader or writer of mystery novels, you won’t want to miss the enticing lineup of local mystery authors and experts appearing at several Dakota County Library branches this summer.
They’ll unveil secrets on how to develop dynamic “whodunit” characters, create suspense, and read from their works.
Award winning author of Stalking Susan and Missing Mark, Julie Kramer, will kick off the series at the Burnhaven Library on Tuesday, June 7, 7–8 p.m. Kramer will discuss her books including her latest, Silencing Sam.
William Kent Krueger, author of the award-winning Cork O’Connor mystery series, will be at the Farmington Library on Tuesday, June 14, 6:30–7:30 p.m.
Mystery expert Professor Gayle Gaskill of St. Catherine University will unlock the secrets of famous fictional female detectives from Miss Marple to The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency at the Heritage Library in Lakeville on Thursday, June 23, 7–8 p.m.
Former police officer Christine Husom will talk about her mystery series set in a fictional Minnesota county when she visits the Wentworth Library in West St. Paul on Tuesday, June 28, 7–8 p.m.
The series concludes when mystery duo Michael Mallory and Marilyn Victor discuss Killer Instinct at the Galaxie Library in Apple Valley on Wednesday, July 20, 7–8 p.m.
Authors will be available for questions, book signing and their books will be for sale. No registration is required and all events are free.
