Individual units will feature: ceiling fans, microwaves, stove, refrigerator, air conditioning and emergency response systems. Additionally, Vermillion River Crossing will be entirely smoke-free meaning that smoking will not be permitted anywhere inside the building including inside individual apartments or on the grounds outside of the building.

Vermillion River Crossing is part of the Dakota County CDA’s Senior Housing Program which provides seniors age 55+ with affordable, independent living housing. It is the CDA’s first building in Farmington and 25th overall in the county. Construction on the 77,020 square foot building is expected to be completed by summer 2012. The cost to construct the building is $6.5 million.

All applications received for Vermillion River Crossing by June 30, 2011 will be randomly drawn for placement on the building’s interested list. After that, applicants will be placed on the list at the time the application is received by the CDA. Verification of applicants will begin in fall 2011.
