Native grasses saved by the Farmland and Natural Areas Program.Interested landowners are required to complete a pre-application form (see attachments below) to be considered for inclusion in Dakota County Board-approved application rounds. The deadline to submit 2012 pre-applications is August 30, 2011.

County staff determines initial eligibility of projects for the Farmland and Natural Areas Program. Staff will contact applicants once a determination is made. If a project is eligible, a meeting is scheduled to discuss the project, describe the prioritization criteria, and conduct a preliminary property assessment.

After all preliminary information is recorded, eligible project applicants are required to complete a more detailed final application form to be considered by a citizen Advisory Committee for recommendation to the County Board. See a step-by-step process of submitting an application.  The deadline to submit 2012 final applications is November 15, 2011.

If you would like a Microsoft Word version of the pre-application or final application forms, please contact Lisa West at 952-891-7018 or lisa.west@co.dakota.mn.us. Please provide your email address.
