Dakota County would like to announce the addition of new staff for the Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization!
On July 14, 2008, Mr. Mark Zabel joined our team as the new Watershed Administrator for the Vermillion River Watershed JPO. Mark comes to us from the Department of Agriculture and with many years of experience in water resources. His email is

Also in July, Mr. Travis Thiel joined our team in the new position of Watershed Specialist. Travis comes to us from the Washington Conservation District with a strong technical background in water quality and monitoring. At Dakota County Travis will be assisting the Watershed Administrator with various project management, administrative, and technical tasks. His email is

Laura Jester will continue to work with the watershed and the County, with an emphasis on impaired waters, through the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District. We would like to thank Laura for the outstanding job she did as Acting Watershed Administrator!
