18-Year-Old Sentenced in Burnsville High School Incident
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Scott Orion Cooper, age 18 of Savage, was sentenced today to 120 days in jail and five years of probation in connection with an incident at Burnsville High School on January 22, 2008, during an after-school activity.  Cooper pleaded guilty to one count of Terroristic Threats on March 14th.  The charge of Possession of a Firearm on School Property and Possession of a Firearm Without a Permit were dropped.  Judge Robert King also sentenced Cooper to have no contact with 17-year-old co-defendant Joshua Tomlinson and to participate in a restorative conference and write a letter of apology.  See the attached news release for more information.
