Former Mendota Heights Girl Scout Leader Charged with Theft
| [March 3, 2010] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Joleen Marie Hopkins, age 54 of Mendota Heights, has been charged* with two counts of Theft By Swindle (both felonies) and four counts of Theft (one felony, one gross misdemeanor and two misdemeanors) in connection with using her former position as a Girl Scout leader to steal approximately $8,200 from the Troop’s and Chapter’s accounts. These thefts are alleged to have occurred in 2008 and 2009. |
