Charges Dismissed Against Co-Defendant in 2005 Burnsville Baby Death Case
| [August 3, 2009] Today the Dakota County Attorney’s Office dismissed amended charges* filed on February 23, 2009 against Eric Matlock, age 24 last known address in Blaine, of Murder in the Second Degree (Aiding and Abetting) and Aiding an Offender After the Fact (originally filed on September 19, 2007), following a Use Immunity hearing. In the hearing, the State requested the Court to order co-defendant Samantha Heiges to testify in Matlock’s trial provided that her testimony could not be used against her in any other court hearing. The Court granted the State’s motion to give Use Immunity to Heiges, who was previously convicted of Murder in the Second Degree in connection with the death of their newborn child in May, 2005. |
