Mixed Martial Arts Fighter Sentenced for Assaulting His Wife
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Brett Charles Rogers, age 30 of Apple Valley, was sentenced today to 60 days in jail, three years of probation and a fine of $500 by Judge Karen Asphaug in connection with a violent attack upon his wife which occurred in the early morning hours of June 29, 2011 at their home in Apple Valley. The victim was choked, punched repeatedly in the head and face, and lost a tooth during the incident. Rogers is a mixed martial arts fighter. Rogers pled guilty to Assault in the Third Degree on September 15th. The additional charges of Domestic Assault by Strangulation, Pattern of Stalking Conduct (both felonies) and Endangerment of a Child (a gross misdemeanor) were dismissed.  See the attached news release for more information.
