Burnsville Man Indicted for Murder and Other Crimes
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Robert Michael Thomas, age 46 of Burnsville, has been indicted* by a Dakota County Grand Jury of one count each of Murder in the Second Degree (While Committing Second Degree Assault), Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Intentional Discharge of a Firearm and Endangering Another and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm in a Municipality (all felonies) in connection with the shooting death of James Edward Koenig, age 38 of Burnsville.  The Grand Jury returned a “no bill” (declined to indict) on the charges of Murder in the First Degree (Premeditated) and Murder in the Second Degree (Intentional).  See the attached news release for more information.
