Vermillion Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing From City of Vermillion and is Sentenced
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Patricia Ann Ward, age 62 of Vermillion, pled guilty today to one count of Theft by Swindle in connection with her stealing over $2,100 from her employer, the City of Vermillion, to pay for personal expenses. Ward was sentenced by Judge Erica MacDonald to 7 days in jail, 5 years of probation, a $300 fine and ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined. Ward cannot seek employment where she would have access to funds. The judge also ordered a gambling assessment and to follow the recommendations.  See the attached news release for further information.
