Vermillion Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing From City of Vermillion and is Sentenced
| Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Patricia Ann Ward, age 62 of Vermillion, pled guilty today to one count of Theft by Swindle in connection with her stealing over $2,100 from her employer, the City of Vermillion, to pay for personal expenses. Ward was sentenced by Judge Erica MacDonald to 7 days in jail, 5 years of probation, a $300 fine and ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined. Ward cannot seek employment where she would have access to funds. The judge also ordered a gambling assessment and to follow the recommendations.
