Karen A. Schaffer, First Assistant
Karen A. Schaffer is First Assistant to the County Attorney and her duties include:
- Chief legal advisor to the County Attorney regarding non-criminal matters
- Legal advisor to the County Board and County Administrator, under direction of the County Attorney
- Handles civil cases
- Manages preparation of the County Attorney's Office proposed budget
- Supervises the Civil Division Head, the Child Support Division Head, and other staff
- Reviews attorney performance evaluations
- Organizes and conducts interviews of new attorney hires
