Adult Supervision provides a continuum of services based on an offender’s risk to re-offend or the offense type. A validated risk assessment tool is used for adult offenders convicted of felony, gross misdemeanor and person misdemeanor offenses.
Based on the results of the initial assessment or the offense type each offender is assigned to a supervision level:
- Intensive Supervision provides the highest level of community supervision for offenders who are leaving prison and have been determined to be at the highest risk for re-offending. These offenders meet with probation officers several times each week.
- Higher Risk Supervision requires that offenders have regular and consistent one-to-one contacts with their probation officers. Offenders may also be required to participate in group programming.
- Lower Risk Supervision means offenders are supervised in group monitoring sessions through the Probation Service Center. These offenders are required to report to periodic PSC meetings.
Specialized supervision caseloads include sex offenders, intensive supervised release, repeat alcohol offenders, domestic abuse, and gender specific.
