On February 6, 2012, a formal swearing in ceremony was held to recognize the promotion of Correctional Lieutenant Jodi Rolloff (left) and three newly-hired correctional deputies. Left to right, they are Adam Smith, Brandon Rogers, and Courtney Brown.

	In November, 2011, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Dave Gisch (pictured standing) facilitated a training exercise in Eagan.
Sergeant Mitch Penny, a 29-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office, retired on August 29th. On September 1, 2011, he was joined by co-workers, friends, and family to celebrate his career. 	On the 16th of August, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners and members of the Sheriff's Office formally thanked Amelia Foster, age 11, for donating approximately $1,900 to the Sheriff's Canine Program. Amelia raised the funds by holding garage sales and collecting donations for the purpose of purchasing a protective vest for Deputy Schuster's canine partner, "Ace."
*On the 4th of August, Sheriff Dave Bellows took a moment to pose with McGruff while attending the Night to Unite Celebration in Empire Township.*
	A youngster learned a lot about firemen's gear during Empire's Night to Unite Celebration on August 4th.
Denise McCall from the Sheriff's Mounted Patrol Unit brought her stead to the Ravenna Township Night to Unite Event on August 2nd.

On the 4th of August, the Dive Team worked to recover a vehicle submerged just off the Spring Lake Park public access on Hilary Path.
