Inver Grove Heights Body Recovery on July 5, 2011
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and Inver Grove Heights Police are investigating a body discovered on River Road near the Mississippi River in Inver Grove Heights. The body was found on Tuesday, July 5th, at approximately 1:30 p.m.
According to Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows, a worker cutting grass located the badly decomposed body lying underneath an old dock and other debris. Investigators believe spring flood waters carried the body to the location of the discovery before receding.
The Dakota County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and describes the deceased to be a middle-aged black male. The Medical Examiner has ruled the cause of death undetermined at this time.
