- Serving the department since 1991, five years as a Correctional Deputy, ten years as a Correctional Sergeant, and currently serving as a Correctional Lieutenant.
- Black Hawk County Juvenile Probation in Black Hawk County, Iowa
- Greater Kansas City Mental Health Foundation for the Missouri Department of Corrections
- Started the jail’s Special Response Team
- Cultural Diversity Facilitator for Minnesota Sheriff’s Association for seven years
- Active recruiter and minority recruiter for the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office since 1996

- Currently finishing Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice at St Mary University, Minnesota
- University of Nebraska Lincoln in Business Administration
- University of Northern Iowa in Criminal Justice
