The Property Taxation & Records Department is responsible for all the functions required of an Auditor, Recorder and Treasurer.
These functions include:
- Managing the County's investments and checking account,
- Computing taxes for real and personal property,
- Collection of all real and personal property tax payments, both current and delinquent, as well as collection of special assessments,
- Managing forfeiture of property for delinquent taxes,
- Administering elections and voter registration,
- Issuing fish and game licenses, marriage licenses, passports, and issues/maintains records of births, deaths, and marriages.
- Recording and processing of all legal documents related to real estate, federal and state tax liens, and certain personal property such as:
- Deeds
- Mortgages
- Assignments
- Satisfactions
- Liens
- Leases
- Condominiums
- Plats
All records are open to the public during normal business hours.
