Marriage Licenses are currently available at three Dakota County locations:
License Information:
- You may apply for a marriage license in any county in Minnesota regardless of residence or where the ceremony takes place, as long as you are married within the geographical borders of Minnesota.
- There is a five-day waiting period between the time the application is signed and the license is issued.
- After a license is issued, it is valid for six months.
- An applicant who has a felony conviction may not use a different name after marriage. (please refer to Statutes below)
Requirements for applying in Dakota County:
Both Parties must be present to sign the application.
