How to Check Application Status and Processing time:
- Passports are processed and issued by the Federal Government. Visit their website for current processing times.

Requirements for a New Application:
- Applicants must appear in person
- Complete a DS-11 passport application form
- Passport Fees
- Please note:
U.S. Department of State fees - check or money order only
Dakota County fees - check, money order or cash only
- Applicant's Social Security number
- Parents’ birth names, birth places, and birth dates
- Proof of citizenship (Provide one of the following):
- Previous Passport
- Certified Birth certificate
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad
- Naturalization Certificate

- Passport photos:
- Two 2” X 2” identical color photos
- Solid white background
- Available at all above locations
- Special requirements for minor applicants under age 16
Requirements for a Renewal:
- If you have been previously been issued a passport, you may qualify for the renewal process.
- If you qualify, complete an application form DS-82. Mail directly to address on application.
