Dakota County is delegated by the state of Minnesota to regulate constructing and sealing water wells. The County takes on this responsibility to ensure clean, safe drinking water for residents.
Completed applications for all well permits should be submitted to the Dakota County Water Resources Department. Well construction and sealing permit applications are normally completed by a licensed well driller.
Monitoring and product recovery wells must be annually registered. Dakota County will mail a permit application to the responsible party.
