The Dakota County Board of Commissioners has provided funding assistance to communities in Dakota County for waste abatement activities since 1989. To be eligible for this funding, Dakota County cities must fill out the proper application forms.
A large city consists of 1,000 households or more and includes the Rural Solid Waste Commission. Small cities have less than 1,000 households.
The funding is used for the administration and promotion of recycling programs.
