Sanitary Landfills These landfills accept non-hazardous household wastes from residents, such as garbage, refuse and other solid waste from residential activities. Household hazardous wastes, tires and yard wastes are prohibited from these landfills.

These landfills take solid waste resulting from the demolition of buildings, roads and other structures. Materials include concrete, sheet rock, brick, asphalt, treated and untreated wood, masonry, glass and plastic building parts.
