Signal Project along Yankee Doodle Road, Eagan
Flashing Yellow Arrow

Dakota County installed Flashing Yellow Arrow (FYA) at two intersections along Yankee Doodle Road in Eagan. FYA operation started at Coachman Road and Blue Cross Road July 16, 2009. Motorists on Yankee Doodle Road now can make a left turn not only on the green left turn arrow, but also on the flashing yellow arrow after they yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians. FYA reduces delays to motorists and increases intersection capacity.

This project also expanded traffic signal coordination along Pilot Knob Road. Current signal coordination operates between Duckwood Drive and Northwood Parkway. Expanded coordination will add Lone Oak Road, Wescott Road, Deerwood Drive, Diffley Road and Cliff Road. New coordination is expected to improve travel times along Pilot Knob Road. Coordination will come on line in September.
