Transit in Dakota County
Dakota County works hard to get people where they need to go safely and on time. One way we do that is by partnering with regional transit agencies—including Metropolitan Council, Counties Transit Improvement Board, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, MetroTransit and DARTS—to plan for the county’s growing transit needs.

Over the years more and more vehicles are traveling our roadways. Ensuring these corridors get people where they need to go quickly and safely is essential to meeting the needs of residents, businesses and commuters. Enhancing transit options is one way to do that. There are four potential transitway corridors—I-35, Cedar Avenue, Robert Street and Red Rock—that run through the county.
