Supervision U

The importance of supervision of young children in licensed child care homes has prompted the Child Care Licensing Staff to develop and facilitate a supervision training curriculum entitled “Supervision University” for Dakota County licensed child care providers. The Supervision University courses highlight the difference between Minnesota legislative or Rule requirements and “best practices” that exceed minimum Rule Requirements. The purpose of this curriculum is to reduce the number of supervision-related injuries, correction orders, negative actions, complaints, and abuse in child care homes.

Licensed Child Care Providers who complete the process in a two year time period will go through a graduation program. At this time there are prizes received at graduation and Dakota County will keep a record of those persons who graduate and will inform parents who conduct record checks on providers of the completion of this course study.

When nearing completion of this program, please contact Bill Hess to be put on the list for graduation.  Submit all training certificates for verification of completion to your licensing worker.  Graduation gifts will be chosen at time of graduation.

Graduation will be held May 7th, 2009 from 6:30-8PM at Dakota County Social Services 14955 Galaxie Ave.  Apple Valley, MN  room L139
