Applying for Other Programs
When can I apply?
Walk in applications are taken Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. You must have completed an application to be seen the same day for intake. If you have a same-day emergency, you may be seen by a worker anytime during normal business hours. It is best to call and talk to an information worker first to see if you may qualify for same day help.
How long will it take?
When you come in to apply check in at the kiosk in Suite 100. Choose Apply for Benefits when prompted by the kiosk. After checking in, you will normally have to wait about 30 minutes to meet and interview with a financial worker. Interviews last approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
Is child care available?
Free drop-in child care is available for your use while you are at the county office seeing any department. The child care center is run by the South Family YMCA in West St. Paul. The center is open from 8:15 to 4:30 daily, but is closed for the noon hour.
