On December 4, 2008, Public Health and the Dakota County Breastfeeding Coalition sponsored a training program to assist healthcare providers in building breastfeeding support skills. The workshop leader, Nikki Lee, a respected national speaker on breastfeeding, trained participants in effective techniques to encourage new parents to breastfeed, including presenting the benefits of breastfeeding and reducing resistance toward breastfeeding.
