Types of Child Foster Care
Concurrent Planning
These are homes that provide foster care for children that you may or may not know. While these foster parents are committed to actively supporting children and children’s parents’ efforts to reunify, they are also committed to becoming a permanent family for the children they care for, if safe reunification with the child's biological family isn’t possible.
Non Relative Foster Care
Non-relative foster homes care for children that they do not know. These children are placed for a variety of reasons and usually do not have relatives that can take care of them.
Relative or Kinship Foster Care
These are foster homes that care for children who are related to them, or who have a close relationship to them.
Foster Care for Developmentally Disabled Children
These foster homes require additional skills and training in order to effectively provide care for developmentally disabled children.
