All mortgage foreclosure sales are listed by the attorney for the mortgage company. The newspapers in Dakota County must meet the definition of a qualified newspaper as set forth in
Minnesota Statute 331A.02. The most frequently used newspapers are:
The attorney for the mortgage company places the sale in the newspaper. The Sheriff’s Office is only the auctioneer at the sale.
Mechanics Lien Sales, which the Sheriff’s Office may conduct as an auctioneer, are published in the same mentioned newspapers.
