Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Dayna Kristine Bell, age 62 of Northfield, was sentenced today by Judge Tim Wermager to 30 days in jail, 45 days of electronic home monitoring and 100 hours of community work service in connection with the conviction of 13 counts of felony animal cruelty. In November Bell was convicted by a Dakota County jury for causing the deaths of numerous puppies and dogs in her care as the owner/operator of Bell Kennels in Sciota Township. Bell was also ordered to pay a fine of $2,600.00 and to serve probation for four years. As part of this sentence Bell cannot own or work around animals and has forfeited her commercial license.
