17-Year-Old Acquitted in Hastings Fatal Stabbing
| Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Allan David Beckles, age 17 of Hastings, was acquitted of Murder in the Second Degree (causing a death without intent to kill while committing a felony) today by Judge Patrice Sutherland in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Hastings on August 26, 2007 that killed 16-year old Trent Griebling. Beckles chose not to have a jury trial. This case was prosecuted under Minnesota's extended juvenile jurisdiction (EJJ) process. For more information, please see the attached news release. |
