| [April 14, 2009] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that John Maxwell Maniglia, age 20 of Northfield, pled guilty today to one count each of Assault in the Third Degree, Kidnapping and Theft in connection with a series of violent crimes committed against a 24-year old vulnerable adult in rural Dakota County last October. Judge Timothy Wermager ordered a pre-sentence investigation and scheduled the sentencing for June 15, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in Hastings. The other charges will be dismissed.
