Man Sentenced for His Part in Burnsville Attempted Murder
| [June 16, 2011] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Shaquen Perril Whitfield, age 21 of Prior Lake, was sentenced today to 204 months in prison by Judge Michael Sovis in connection with the break-in of a Burnsville townhome on May 11, 2008. During the burglary, the homeowner was stabbed in the head and the back 17 times, and left for dead. The perpetrators then started several fires in residence to conceal evidence of the crime. Whitfield pled guilty on June 27, 2009 to Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Arson in the First Degree and Burglary in the First Degree. |
