Long-Term Residential Treatment

Dakota County’s Long-Term Treatment Program is intensive, secure, residential treatment for juveniles requiring a minimum stay of 90 days.  The length of stay is determined by the Court or estimated based on current charges, criminal history, and assessment of the risk to reoffend.

Programming consists of culturally specific treatment for the individual and family; correctional programming through participation in curriculum designed to teach life skills, including better decision making; outpatient chemical dependency treatment; individualized case planning for offenders staying more than five days; and education.
