Camping Rules
The Dakota County Parks Department established these campground rules to help make your stay a safe and pleasant experience.

The campgrounds are governed by Dakota County Park Use Ordinance #107 and patrolled by the Parks, Lakes and Trails unit of the Dakota County Sheriff's Office.

Firewood Restrictions
Dakota County Parks prohibits any split log or log firewood from unapproved sources being brought into any Dakota County Park facilities to prevent the spread of invasive and damaging pests including the Emerald Ash Borer.

The spread of this particular species and other invasive organisms has been closely related to the transportation of firewood.

Similar programs have been implemented on a regional, state, and federal level.

  • Firewood is available for purchase at the campground offices.
  • Firewood purchased from an approved DNR firewood vendor can be brought in. A receipt must be brought in to verify the purchase location. For detailed information regarding DNR certified vendors, please visit www.dnr.state.mn.us/firewood .
  • Kiln dried wood such as unpainted and unstained dimension lumber or kindling that is free of any metal or foreign substance can be brought in.
  • Read more about firewood restrictions at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/firewood/index.html.
