Go wild at the fair
While we have always been wild about the fair, bringing the wild to the fair is a first for Dakota County government. Dakota County Parks…forever wild is the theme this year at the government building at the Dakota County Fair.
The theme forever wild highlights one of the great qualities of our County parks—they have among the best natural areas anywhere in the Twin Cities. Fun family activities are planned from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dakota County Government Building every day of the Fair. The building is just past the flagpoles on the right if you come in the Fair’s Third Street entrance.
Come see the Dakota County Sheriff’s K-9 demonstration at 1 p.m. Tuesday, 2 p.m. Thursday, or 3 p.m. Saturday. The Sheriff’s horse patrol will stop by to visit from 4-6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Kids' Day held on Tuesday will feature games and crafts for kids of all ages from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Senior Day will feature tech gadgets especially for those 55 and older from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Folks can drop off a water sample every day of the Fair before 4 p.m. or have your water tested on Thursday while you wait from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. On select days, there will be free blood pressure checks, games and presentations to have fun with recycling and learning about wetlands.
Join Dakota County Government at this year’s Dakota County Fair Aug. 4-10. A complete schedule of events held at the Dakota County Government Building is available online. |
