There's a new member in our wild family
On Sunday, Sept. 7, we're celebrating the opening of Schaar’s Bluff Gathering Center in Spring Lake Park Reserve—the newest member of our ‘forever wild’ family.
 The Gathering Center has unique ‘green’ features and offers magnificent views of the Mississippi River valley from Schaar’s Bluff. The Center is available for groups to rent for a variety of events.
Bring the kids to celebrate this special occasion.
Schaar’s Bluff Gathering Center Opening
Sunday, September 7, 2-5 p.m.
- 2 p.m. – Raptor Center presentation
- 3 p.m. – Grand Opening ceremony
- 3:30-5 p.m. – Activities for the whole family
- Appalachian music by the Mill City Grinders
- Historical zone with Science Museum of MN, DC Historical Society and local historians
- Live animals from Carpenter Nature Center
- Large kite flying
- River interpretation by National Park Service staff
- American Indian storytelling and Drum Group
- Old-fashioned kettlecorn
