Kids and books: A recipe for success
Look what's cookin' at your library.“Look What’s Cookin’ At Your Library” is the theme for the Summer Reading Program at Dakota County libraries. This fun-filled program offers families something interesting at the library all summer long.

Beginning June 2, children ages 12 and younger can join the library’s reading club. Both readers and listeners can sign up for the reading club until Aug. 15 by visiting any Dakota County library or the bookmobile.

Reading club members keep track of the hours spent reading or being read to, receiving prizes after five, 10, 15 and 20 hours of reading.

In addition to the reading club, more than 250 free programs and special events will be held throughout the summer; ranging from animals to art projects, clowns to cookie decorating, films to food programs, and more.

For dates, times and locations, or to find out more about the summer reading program, stop by your local library, the bookmobile or visit the Dakota County libraries' Web site.

Dakota County libraries are located in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Hastings, Inver Grove Heights, Lakeville, and West St. Paul.
