The Dakota County Park System Plan sets a clear direction for the future of Dakota County Parks and develops effective strategies for the system's growth, service delivery, resource management and funding.
A series of workshops developed three alternative visions for the Park System:
Great Places (The “Not So Big” Park System): Enhance the existing County Parks.
Connected Places (Parks without Boundaries): Link parks and popular destinations with a network of greenways.
Protected Places (A Tale of Two Counties): Work collaboratively to preserve the best remaining natural areas in Dakota County.
