Commissioner Kathleen Gaylord was elected as the 2013 Dakota County Board Chair during the Jan. 8 board meeting. Gaylord has been on the board since 2003 representing District 2, which includes the cities of South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Sunfish Lake, and Inver Grove Heights. Commissioner Liz Workman, District 5, was elected Vice Chair.
In addition, the board appointed chairs for Dakota County’s three Committees of the Whole— Administration, Finance and Policy; Community Services; and Physical Development. Commissioner Kathleen A. Gaylord is chair of the Administration, Finance and Policy Committee of the Whole; Commissioner Liz Workman is chair of the Community Services Committee of the Whole; and Commissioner Paul J. Krause, District 6, is chair of the Physical Development Committee of the Whole. Krause is also chair of the Regional Railroad Authority.
Newly elected Commissioners Chris Gerlach, District 7 and Mike Slavik, District 1 were also sworn in during the board meetings, as well as were re-elected Commissioners Egan, Schouweiler, Krause and Workman.
