A bridge replacement and road work will repair the area damaged by the June 2012 flooding on County Road 80 at Denmark Avenue in Eureka and Castle Rock Townships. Work will include replacing the existing bridge with a box culvert, grading the intersection and both roads approximately 300 feet from the intersection in each direction, and additional drainage improvements.
Project Timeline: Oct. 28 – mid-November 2013
County Road 80 from 500 feet west to 500 feet east of Denmark Avenue and Denmark Avenue from 500 feet south to 500 feet north of County Road 80 will be closed to traffic beginning on Monday, Oct. 28. This closure will remain in place for two to three weeks. Access to residences will continue to remain open throughout construction; however, access will be limited to only one direction until construction is complete. Traffic should use alternate routes.
Schedule for Oct. 28–Nov. 15
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 28.
- Remove the existing bridge.
- Install the box culvert.
- Grade the roadway and ditches.
- Place aggregate on the roadway.
- Restoration of areas disturbed by construction.
