The METRO Red Line is just the beginning
The METRO Red Line is among the first of several lines in the Twin Cities region’s METRO system, a planned network of light rail and BRT routes offering reliable high-frequency and high-speed travel with limited stops. The METRO Blue Line (formerly Hiawatha) LRT began operation in 2004; additional METRO lines under planning or development include the Green Line (Central Corridor) LRT and Orange Line (I-35W) BRT. Additional news and information on the METRO system can be found on the MetroTransit website.
