Short Story Contest

Library FoundationDakota County teens showcased their writing skills by viewing a picture and writing a short story—1,000 words or less—about what’s going on in the picture below to win prizes. Dakota County Library’s annual Teen Short Story Contest ran Oct. 1–31 and was open to teens 12–18 who live or attend school in Dakota County.

Each winner will receive a subscription to Teen Ink magazine and a Barnes & Noble gift card, courtesy of the Dakota County Library Foundation.

The Teen Short Story Contest was made possible through financial support from the Dakota County Library Foundation.

2014 Short Story Content Winners
Age 12-14
First Place: Lindsey Harris, 14, Wescott, Camping in the “Great” Outdoors
Second Place: Victoria Garner, 13, Wescott, Two Sides of Every Story
Third Place: Juliana Vang, 14, Wentworth, Welcome Home

Age 15-18
