The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) reissued the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) general permit for a period of five years (Aug. 1, 2013 to July 31, 2018). Dakota County’s responsibilities under this permit primarily relate to transportation-related stormwater discharge and infrastructure within County road right of way.
In accordance with the current, reissued MS4 permit, the County must submit a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). The MPCA reviewed the County’s SWPPP application and determined that it meets or exceeds the minimum permit requirements; therefore, it is ready for public notice. The public notice comment period is from March 11, 2014 to April 10, 2014.
The County’s SWPPP application
is available at all County libraries and from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
