Extend your teaching beyond the walls of the classroom. Take your students on a Dakota County field trip.
Most field trip curriculum is aligned to the State Graduation Standards and specifically to the FOSS Kits (Full Option Science System). Professional field trip facilitators will present materials at an age appropriate level.
The average cost of a field trip is typically less than $4 per student.

Request a field trip
To request a field trip, complete the Field Trip Request Form. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at least 21 days prior to a field trip.

Program staff will call to confirm your request and scheduling details. You will receive a confirmation letter by mail or email after the scheduling details are confirmed.
One invoice will be sent to the billing address at time of registration. Field trips may be cancelled by Dakota County due to late payment.
If you decide to cancel your field trip, contact Dakota County Parks as soon as possible at 952-891-7000.
Groups cancelling more than 21 days prior to the scheduled field trip date will be charged a $50 processing fee. Groups cancelling 21 days or less prior to the scheduled date will be charged the full program fee.
Field trips cancelled by Dakota County are fully refunded. Dakota County School Field Trips are held rain or shine, safety permitting.
Rescheduling a field trip is allowed up to 21 days in advance of the original field trip date if another date for that field trip is available. A $50 processing fee will be charged in addition to the field trip fee.
