A Dakota County grand jury indicted 48-year-old Jason Philip Filas in connection with the fatal stabbing of Danielle Grace Warren, 32, Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena announced.
The indictment charged Filas with one count of first-degree premeditated murder, one count of first-degree murder while committing domestic abuse with a past pattern of domestic abuse, and one count of second-degree intentional murder.

If convicted of either first-degree murder charge, Filas faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
Filas remains in custody at the Dakota County Jail. The next court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. in Hastings.
