The Dakota County Historical will host an America 250 Open House on Tuesday, May 6 from 5–7 p.m. at the Lost Spur Golf and Event Center. The public is invited to attend the open house and provide feedback on the planning for the America 250 event from this past year. A formal presentation is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. and again at 6:15 p.m.
The Lost Spur Golf & Event Center is located at 2750 Sibley Memorial Highway in Eagan. The event is free of charge and children's activities will be available for children that attend. The event is hosted in partnership between the Dakota County Historical Society, the Dakota City Heritage Village, Eagan Historical Society, Randolph Area Historical Society and Rosemount Area Historical Society. The event is made possible through in part by the people of Minnesota through a grant funding by an appropriation of to the Minnesota Historical Society from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
July 4, 2026 will mark the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and the founding of the United States. History organizations throughout Dakota County have discussed how we can accurately commemorate this national milestone.
