The Dakota County Historical Society will host an En Plein Air painting event at the Sibley Historic Site on Sunday, July 27 from noon–4 p.m. Admission for this event is $50 per person.

The En Plein Air Painting Workshop is hosted by the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. The term “en plein air" is a French expression meaning “in the open air." This workshop will be led by instructor Jack Dant, a skilled en plein air painter who will share insights into the history of this art form in Minnesota, followed by a demonstration of oil painting techniques.
Registration is $50 and includes all art materials for the event. Participants will create and take home a painted 8-by10-inch portrait. The workshop is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
